A microwave is an electrical device. It needs quite a bit of energy since it emits heat rays. You should always be allowing a professional microwave repair technician to fix the unit for you.
You will risk getting a nasty shock, or it can happen to anyone who is not trained to ruin your unit for good if you try and fix the microwave on your own.
There are a few things that may need small fixes, like the switch on the motherboard. You will have to take the unit apart in order to get to the motherboard. It is why it is recommended to leave the repair in the hands of the professionals.
Common Microwave Issues
When it comes to abnormal microwaves, there are a few common issues that the unit faces. Many are related to the general operating system and not the intended function or the heating element.
A Broken Touchpad
Having a microwave with the touchpad or the buttons not working in a decent way is quite frustrating. At times, there are just a few buttons that do not work completely or stick, and at times it is the entire touchpad.
You can now get a new motherboard and need not have to replace the entire unit. Getting the unit repaired professionally will be a more cost-effective solution than replacing the whole unit.
A Strange Noise
Every electrical appliance makes a sound of its own. Yours too should make a sound, but when it gets louder with time, the unit may need attention.
If you tend to hear any new sounds or loud noises, then it is time to call in the repair technician. They will inform you about the quick fix, if any or if it is time to replace the entire unit.
Make sure that you are checking out the obvious causes before calling a professional to fix the unit. Is the rotating plate clunking against the bottom of the unit, or is it uneven?
Are the rotating arms not in their respective slot? These things are the other 2 fixes making loud noises when they are simply out of place.
There would be times that this happens when you are overloading the unit with something or do not keep the food in the center.
The Door Won’t Shut
Did you notice the way the light in your unit turns off when you are closing the door? There is always an issue with the switch or the door latch if you close the door, and that does not happen.
It is easy to fix, although it is quite annoying. You may actually have a cracked or broken main part of the latch if you slam it too hard if you have a plastic unit. You should get a new unit in this case.
Call a repair technician if the latch appears fine and you are not able to figure out the reason behind the issue, mainly when you have an expensive unit. The issue might be with the smartboard.
The Tray Won’t Turn
The issue can also be with turning the Tray that fails to turn. You may wish to check the plate and the arms whether they are aligned well or not if it is not turning.
Try turning the arms with your finger to ensure that there is no kind of blockage in the unit. The issue can be with the roller guide if it does not turn at all.
The issue can also be with the drive motor if they are turning when you are pushing them but not on their own. Call in the professionals and notify them about the issue as they help you repair the issue.
No Heat
There can be an issue with a high voltage diode, too, if the things coming out of the microwave is cold, or it takes a lot of time to heat than usual.
If it is not that, then the issue might be with the door switch or the magnetron. Irrespective of what it is, the heating elements are not something that you would like to mess with on your own.
Never put yourself in danger and hire professionals for microwave repair.
